Founded in 2018 by Tyson Huggans, Patient Transport began with 16 Medical Transport Vans, driven by a desire to assist those facing challenges in accessing medical care. We wanted to raise the NEMT bar by providing the best service at a very competitive rate.
Over the years, we have grown into a trusted provider in the community, expanding our fleet and service area to meet the growing needs of our clients. We have one of the largest networks of wheelchair and stretchers providers with 6 locations throughout the state of Arizona. Patient Transport strives to do all the little things that end up making the biggest differences.
Today, Patient Transport is the primary provider for more hospitals, acute rehabilitation centers, and skilled nursing facilities than any other medical transport organization in the Phoenix Metro area. Our success is built on the backs of an incredible team and a relentless focus on innovation, customer care, and service excellence. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to pushing the boundaries and improving the lives of those we serve.
On January 9th, 2018, Tyson acquired Statewide Express in Casa Grande, inheriting a fleet of 18 vehicles and a highly skilled, tenured team. The company was rebranded as AZ Patient Transport, poised to expand and serve more communities across Arizona. The year that followed saw AZ Patient Transport grow in the East Valley, welcoming key team members like Chris P, Matt H, Jake N, Brandon T, and Josh M. Their dedication and hard work helped shape the company into a leading provider in the region.
In January 2017, Tyson founded Yuma Medical Transport, a company born from his passion and vision for providing top-tier medical transportation. The goal of finding the best talent and paying them above market value greatly paid off as YMT became the primary provider for everyone in Yuma County. His dedication to the community and patient care was unwavering, setting the foundation for future growth.
In 2012, Tyson Huggans embarked on a remarkable journey by founding Medical Transport Company. Over the years, he gained invaluable experience in the non-emergency medical transport industry. In 2016, the company acquired Medstar Medical Transport, marking a key milestone. Shortly after, Tyson sold his shares and set out to create something of his own.
You’ll be hard pressed to find someone that loves NEMT more than Tyson. 16 years of experience and an openness to constantly learn from others has allowed him to build an unparalleled team of experts that can provide the best service at very competitive rates.
